Hello, transfer student.

How are you? Are you getting accustomed to school life?

Hmm. Seems like you’re not completely used to it yet.

It can’t be helped, our school has a lot of ‘bad’ kids.

We’re still a ways from ‘stability’. But it’s not so bad.

People always seek ‘stability’. But they can’t stand it when things are *‘*stable’ for too long.

It might be easier to understand if we use music as a metaphor. You’d be scared if you were in the midst of a huge cacophony. But you’d have a breakdown if you were in absolute silence too.

To moderate between stimulation and stability, and maintain it. This is what allows people to be at peace.

Just like the peace comfortable music brings people.

This is what I’m chasing.

To be able to listen to everyone’s happy ensemble…. forever.

However, it’s quite difficult to compose music like that.

If you don’t pluck the strings of order and waves of change at just the right time and volume - its tone will become ear-piercing.

This sentence is quite hard to translate… Eichi is expanding on the dichotomy of stability and stimulation. But he still uses the word for ‘waves’ to oppose ‘order’, so I added ‘of change’ so it makes more sense when comparing it to ‘order’. Ocean waves are really important imagery throughout this conversation.

I’ve always dreamt of a peaceful world full of beautiful music.

Perhaps you transferred to this school for the same reason.

Time in this school has been at a standstill, until you arrived.

It’s too stable here - it’s tragic, really. I am to blame for that, though.

With the Student Council and I at its pinnacle, this school has maintained a strict order. No one has disrupted it, they just keep surrendering themselves to this peace.

Like the perfectly constructed molecules of a beautiful gemstone.

But, to me, it’s utterly worthless no matter how beautiful it is. Because there’s no difference between stagnation and death.

Under these circumstances, everyone’s uneasiness and yearning called you here. God, fate, the world - they anticipated your arrival.

They cast you, a small, tiny pebble into this tranquil school.

God only knows what will come of it. Whether you’re an angel or a demon is yet to be seen, but I wholeheartedly welcome you nonetheless.

Do you know how life originated? Waves formed in the sea because of the Earth’s rotation.

Then those waves caused chemical changes, giving birth to life.

Only when there are waves is life given birth. Just as this corpse of a school will be revived. No, it will bloom.

Aah, I’m so excited. My heart keeps leaping, it’ll be like a miracle.

But, do be careful. Though it wasn’t my original intent, I am this school’s ‘order’.

Now that you’re the ‘wave’, you’ll inevitably crash into a dam called ‘Eichi Tenshouin’.

Do expect that moment to arrive from now on. You will definitely destroy this dull and rigid school - and me.

Until it’s in complete disarray, and nothing remains.

Please destroy it all. I hope you make music that moves people.

I’ve always been looking forward to it.

That moment when cheering applause echoes through a beautiful composition.
